…and counting
The Griffon
A proper English pub, hidden in the French Quarter.
The Griffon opened in 1995— a traditional English pub tucked a block off the water on Vendue Range. Somewhere in those early days a regular stapled a signed dollar bill to the wall, and the idea caught.
Three decades on, there are tens of thousands of them — wall to wall, across the ceiling, four and five deep in places — each left by someone who sat right where you’re about to.
Tens of thousands of bills. Four and five deep in spots. Nobody’s counted in years.
Independently run on Vendue Range since 1995
